A missed opportunity for a great album! The original CD was mastered by Robert Ludwig but never cut to vinyl. Two decades later we get the first pressing: one from the original ‘99 master tapes and another from a brand-new remix. But sadly, much has been lost in the art of cutting lacquer. The original mix has a flat presentation lacking intensity and immediacy. It has a decent balance but no depth. It gets worse. The remix is boosted on the low end so it sounds punchier than the original but at the cost of the mid-range. While the original is listenable (though drained of its raw energy) the remix is a travesty.
